This course examines the influence of the ‘dysfunctional thorax’ on the rest of the spine and it’s contribution to the development of various pain disorders. It helps you to understand why patients can present with multiple pain problems. These highly practical sessions explore the relationship between chronic and recurrent pain disorders, movement impairment and appropriate manual and exercise therapy.
- Learn how cervico-thoracic and shoulder problems are related to axial spine biomechanics
- Discover the Fundamental Patterns basic to functional and dysfunctional axial control,and how dysfunction affects postural movement patterns
- Recognise ’core’ ‘control problems and their relationship to upper quadrant problems
- Gain novel insights into solving shoulder problems
- Design exercise programs by establishing sound foundations of control, and progressively increasing strength through healthy movement patterns
- Examine the mismatch between the ‘abilities’ and ‘needs’ required for safe participation in many current ‘fitness/exercise industry’ programmes;
